NOTE: had to change a udev rule to use pikis. For some reason even though i added administrator to the dialoout group i could not use ttyUSB0 when ros was started by clearpaths script. I found an exsiting rule for an FTDI chip on the machine for some reason. i changed it to use the piksi part id and it seems to work, not sure what that will do in the future.

Note on gmapping demo: The default scan topic is front/scan not scan. If this is not set correctly it will sit saying "waiting for map..."
